Online Temporary Email
An online temporary email is an inbox that lives in a web page: nothing to install, no mail app to configure. smail.pw gives you one in the browser, on a phone or a computer, and shows new mail as it arrives.
What you see on the page
- Your address at the top, with a Copy button.
- The inbox underneath. Each email shows the sender, the subject, and when it arrived.
- A small dot next to the inbox title, "Latest emails". Green means the page is connected and new mail will appear by itself; grey means the connection dropped and the page is reconnecting.
- Refresh, for the rare case where you want to check by hand.
- Replace address and Delete address, the two icon buttons next to Copy. Both ask for confirmation first because they cannot be undone.
Live delivery
You do not need to reload the page. When an email reaches smail.pw, the open page is told straight away and the email appears in the list, typically a few seconds after it was sent. If your connection drops, for example when a laptop wakes from sleep or a phone changes networks, the page reconnects and catches up on anything that arrived in between.
Reading an email
Click an email to open it. smail.pw shows the message body, in HTML or plain text. Links open in a new tab. Attachments are not shown and cannot be downloaded, and you cannot reply: the inbox is receive-only.
One browser, one address
The address belongs to the browser where you generated it. Open smail.pw in the same browser tomorrow and the same address and its emails are still there. Open it in a different browser, a private window, or another device, and you start with no address.
Retention
Your address and the emails it receives are kept long-term by default. We do not guarantee how long: they may be removed at any time, for example during periodic cleanup, maintenance, or after a system fault. Do not rely on smail.pw to keep anything you need. Your address does not change by itself; it only changes when you replace or delete it.
Good uses
- Reading a verification code or confirmation link right now
- Watching for an email while you test a form or a sign-up flow
- Keeping one-off sign-ups out of your personal mailbox
Languages
The site is available in many languages; switch with the language menu at the top of the page. Your address stays the same when you change language.
