Temporary Email for Registration

A temporary email for registration lets you create an account on a website without giving it your long-term address. The sign-up email, the welcome series, and the marketing that follows all land in the temporary inbox instead of yours.

Accounts it suits

  • Free trials and product demos
  • Forums, comment sections, and communities you read occasionally
  • Newsletters you want to sample before subscribing for real
  • Events and webinars that ask for an email to let you in
  • Giveaways and coupon sign-ups that are followed by promotional mail
  • Test accounts for developers and QA

Accounts it does not suit

  • Anything with money in it: banks, payment apps, shops where you store a card
  • Work, school, and government accounts
  • Accounts holding things you paid for, such as games, software licences, or subscriptions
  • Your main social and messaging accounts

The test is simple: if losing access to the account would cost you something, register with a permanent mailbox.

Registering, step by step

  1. Generate an address on smail.pw and copy it.
  2. Paste it into the sign-up form and submit.
  3. Open the confirmation email when it appears in the inbox, then click the link or copy the code.
  4. Finish the sign-up. The address stays the same, so later emails from that site keep arriving in the same inbox.

What happens after you register

On smail.pw the address does not run out on a timer. As long as you use the same browser and do not replace or delete the address, a password-reset or notification email sent next week arrives in the same inbox.

That is useful, but it is not a promise:

  • The address lives in this browser's cookies. Another browser or device will not have it, and if the cookies are cleared it cannot be recovered.
  • The cookie is renewed each time you open smail.pw. A browser that has not opened the site for more than about a year may drop it, and the address with it.
  • Addresses and emails are kept long-term by default, with no guarantee. They may be removed during periodic cleanup, maintenance, or after a system fault.

If the account turns out to matter

If a trial becomes something you rely on, change the account's email to a permanent address in its settings while you can still receive the confirmation email at the temporary one. Do this before you replace or delete the smail.pw address.

If the site rejects the address

Some sites refuse temporary email domains at sign-up. Generating another address will not get around it, because every smail.pw address uses the same domain. Use a permanent mailbox or an email alias there.
