Can Temporary Email Send Messages?
Short answer: on smail.pw, no. A smail.pw address can receive email, but it cannot send or reply. That is true of most temporary email services, and it is deliberate.
What a smail.pw address can and cannot do
It can:
- Receive email from any sender
- Show the message body, in HTML or plain text
- Open links from the email in a new tab
It cannot:
- Send a new email
- Reply to or forward an email it received
- Show or download attachments
Why sending is not offered
- Abuse. An address anyone can create in one click, with no identity behind it, is exactly what spammers and scammers want to send from. Being receive-only removes that use completely.
- Deliverability. A domain that sends anonymous mail is quickly blocked by other providers. Once that happens, even legitimate mail involving that domain suffers.
- Simplicity and cost. Receiving needs no sending reputation, no outbound queues, and no complaint handling, which is part of why the service can stay free.
If a site asks you to reply to confirm
A few services verify you by asking you to reply to their email, or to send a message to a special address. A temporary inbox cannot do that. Look for an alternative on the same page, since most services offer a link or a code as well, or use a permanent mailbox for that service.
If you need a throwaway address that can send
Use an email alias from a regular provider instead. An alias forwards to your real mailbox and lets you reply from the alias address, so the other side never sees your main address, and you can switch the alias off later. Our article Temporary Email vs Email Alias compares the two.

- Emails larger than 5 MB are stored without their attachments; the text of the message is kept.
- Addresses and emails are kept long-term by default, with no guarantee.
